Wisconsin, the Badger State, offers the vacationer a variety of destinations from Lake Michigan in the east and the Mississippi River in the West. Madison, its capital, is home of the University of Wisconsin, which is noted for its fine programs and beautiful lakeside location. Travelers venturing to southern Wisconsin can see beautiful farms and enjoy the elegance of the Lake Geneva region, quaint communities with charming restaurants and taverns, tasting cheese fresh from the factories, and viewing historic mounds constructed by pre-historic indigenous people.
