New York Vacation Destinations:
1000 Islands Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy fishing, boating, and camping in northern New York in the hundreds of islands in the St. Lawrence Seaway.
New York City and its boroughs In addition to romance, visitors find culture, cuisine, finance, and fashion as well as sporting events and theatre on and off Broadway in the city environs. After visiting the United Nations, vacationers can find lively restaurants and culture in Little Italy and Chinatown all within walking distance of public transportation.
Long Island Within a few hours drive or train ride from Manhattan, travelers can find golfing, surf fishing, tennis, horseback riding, antiquing, and boutique shopping in the seaside villages along the beaches of Long Island.

Visitors to the region enjoy Howe Caverns, Cooperstown's National Baseball Hall of Fame, Glimmerglass Opera, Fenimore House, and Munson Williams Proctor Institute.
Catskills There is something for everyone in the Catskill Mountains, including hiking and backpacking in the ancient mountains, visiting the stately resorts, and playing golf in the lush courses scattered throughout the region.

Adirondacks The Adirondacks with its 46 high peaks, 3,000 clear lakes, and 1,500 miles of rivers provide hiking, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, skiing, and climbing. Throughout the region, tourists can find quaint resort villages. In 2005, Lake Placid is celebrating 25 years since it hosted the Winter Olympics.
